History

The QIWI Group has been working on making payment for all sorts of goods and services easy, accessible, intuitive, and time-effective for over 10 years. In other words, QIWI now offers an integrated payment service that employs all of the most commonly used tools and technologies. QIWI users are able to process payment by means of both cash and electronic money, as well as via their personal bank accounts, mobile phone accounts, and with social network currencies. The QIWI Group makes all of these transactions most accessible thanks to its terminal network (the largest in the world), as well as its convenient electronic wallet system and its virtual and plastic bank cards.

The slogan of the payment service is: "QIWI is against queues and in favour of personal freedom".

The QIWI Group was founded on the basis of two payment systems — the "e-port" and the "OSMP". It was those two systems that formed the new QIWI brand. The year that saw the first production of payment terminals working with the Touch* technology became the first year in the official timeline of the global QIWI business.
